Those with an annual income surpassing Rs. 1,200,000 are required to pay income tax in Sri Lanka, the Department of Inland Revenue said.
Issuing a statement, the department said this includes business owners, incomes from rental or interest-related investments, or employment with the specified annual income.
Stating that it is the respective individual’s responsibility to file for income tax, the Inland Revenue Department urged the public to settle their accurate income tax payments on time. (NewsWire)
