Kusal Mendis broke Kumar Sangakkara’s record for most sixes in a Test innings by a Sri Lankan, hitting 11 sixes in his unbeaten 200* against Ireland.
Mendis surpassed Sangakkara’s previous record of eight sixes, which he set against Bangladesh in 2014.
Mendis’ knock was a blistering display of power hitting, as he took the Irish bowlers to the cleaners.
