Sri Lanka has sought further technical support and financial assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in the spheres of digitalization, agriculture, Renewable Energy, and financial sector stability.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Sabry said the request was made during a discussion with ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa recently.
Taking to Twitter, Minister Sabry said that during the discussion he had also expressed Sri Lanka’s gratitude for the excellent partnership and cooperation with the ADB during a challenging period for Sri Lanka and for supporting its recovery process.
“Whilst conveying the best wishes of President Ranil Wickremesinghe @RW_UNP, I further sought technical support & financial assistance from @ADB_HQ in the spheres of #digitalization, #agriculture, #RenewableEnergy & financial sector stability,” the minister revealed.
Minister Sabry further stated that in response, the ADB President expressed his appreciation for the encouraging work Sri Lanka has done so far to avert a greater crisis and for laying a strong foundation for recovery.
The Asian Development Bank has also pledged to continue engaging with renewed vigour in diverse and important areas of interest, Minister Ali Sabry added. (NewsWire)
