The Department of Motor Traffic has issued a warning over vehicle revenue licences that are yet to be renewed.
The department’s Commissioner General Nishantha Anuruddha states that vehicles for which revenue licences have not been renewed for a period of more than 5 years will be blacklisted.
Nishantha Anuruddha further stated that nearly 8.3 million vehicles have been registered with the Department of Motor Traffic and that nearly 6.3 vehicles have been registered using the QR code system.
He said that measures will be taken to identify vehicles that have failed to renew vehicle revenue licences for a period of five years.
Nishantha Anuruddha added that district vehicle inspectors will, thereafter, remove such vehicles from the Department of Motor Traffic’s database. (NewsWire)
