A restraining order has been issued preventing protesters from commemorating incidents related to the ‘May 09’ people’s protest in 2022.
The restraining order was issued by the Fort Magistrate’s Court today based on a request made by the Colpetty Police.
As per the order, protesters are prohibited from entering the President’s House, Presidential Secretariat, Finance Ministry, and Temple Trees in Colombo.
Sri Lanka today marks one year since the countrywide unrest that broke out on May 09, 2022.
The unrest broke out after Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) supporters attacked anti-government protesters at the Galle Face Green in Colombo. (NewsWire)
