The number of dengue-infected persons increased by 3 per cent this week in comparison to the week before, the National Dengue Control Unit reported.
According to the Unit, nearly 32,000 dengue cases have been reported since the beginning of the year.
The National Dengue Control Unit has also declared around 59 MOH Divisions across the country as dengue high-risk areas.
An increase in dengue cases has been reported from the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Kandy, Galle, Jaffna, Batticaloa, Trincomalee, Kurunegala, Kalmunai, Puttalam, Ratnapura, and Kegalle districts.
The National Dengue Control Unit has warned that there could be an increase in the spread of dengue due to the prevalent rainy weather conditions experienced in various parts of the country. (NewsWire)
