The Urubokka Police have made attempts to retrieve the skeletal remains of a man believed to have been murdered 33 years ago.
According to Daily News, the Police had received a tip-off via the Police emergency number 119 claiming that a man had been murdered and dumped in a toilet pit 33 years ago.
The man identified as Kapuge Jinadasa, a father of three and a resident of Urubokka, Dolamulla, is believed to have been killed by his wife and her paramour.
The Urubokka Police had presented facts to the Morawaka Magistrate on the tip-off received on October 12, 2022.
Following a court order, the Urubokka Police carried out excavations yesterday (15) but were unable to retrieve any skeletal remains.
Further investigations have revealed that the tip-off had been made by the children of the deceased after having overheard their mother share the information with a relative. (NewsWire)
