Veteran Sri Lankan singer Christopher Paul has passed away today (May 18).
According to family sources, the veteran singer was 87 years at the time of his demise.
Christopher Paul was a most sought-after star in the 60s-70s era in Sri Lanka.
‘Ela Dola Ganga’, ‘Katuroda Gammane’, ‘Wathura Nala’, ‘Rosa Malak dutuwama’, ‘Menika Menika’, ‘Veena vile meda olu male’, ‘Muthu bello’ are some of his popular hits still aired by radio stations and reproduced by new generation artistes.
Christopher was a sought-after singer for over four decades and was often invited to sing in outdoor and indoor concerts. He has toured many overseas countries for concerts.
For his contribution to music, the Department of Cultural Affairs organised a solo concert ‘Christo 82’ in 2018 in Colombo where he sang twenty-five songs as his one and only solo concert. (NewsWire)
