A Sri Lankan woman is reported to have died in Singapore after allegedly falling from the 08th floor of an apartment complex, it was reported.
According to Daily News, the Foreign Ministry stated that the incident had occurred yesterday (May 18).
The victim has been identified as a resident of Dankotuwa and is reported to have informed close associates of harassment by the apartment landlord.
As per reports, the woman is said to have requested to be sent back to Sri Lanka but had not received positive feedback from the landlord.
The Foreign Ministry said the postmortem examination had been conducted in Singapore yesterday, while the victim’s remains are to be brought back to Sri Lanka.
Stating that no conclusion has been reached with regard to the cause of the death, the Ministry stated that the Singapore authorities are conducting investigations into the death.
The Foreign Ministry added that the Sri Lankan mission is in contact with the Singapore authorities involved in the investigations. (NewsWire)
