The Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT) and the Ministry of Power and Energy today signed an agreement on the development of the first floating solar development project in Sri Lanka, Minister Kanchana Wijesekera announced.
Taking to Twitter, the Minister said that the USD 5.2 Million grant was extended by KIAT to the Sustainable Energy Authority to develop the 2 projects consisting of 1 MW each of Floating Solar.
He further stated that the projects, to be developed by the Korean Engineering Company, will be developed on Chandrika Wewa in the Sabaragamuwa Province and Kiri Ibban Wewa in the UVA Province.
Minister Kanchana Wijesekera added that the project is set to be completed by December 2024. (NewsWire)
