Dambulla Aura has confirmed its participation in the Lanka Premier League 2023 after signing an agreement for LPL Season 4 in Dubai.
The contract was signed between Dr. Viranjith Thambugala, Chairman of Aura Lanka Group of Companies and President of Aura Lanka Sports Pvt Ltd, and Anil Mohan, Chairman and CEO of IPG Company, which runs the LPL.
Dambulla Aura, which finished at the bottom of the points table last season, has made significant changes to the squad. They have appointed star wicketkeeper-batsman Kusal Mendis as the captain for this year’s season, aiming to revamp the team’s performance.
In addition, Dambulla Aura has secured the services of Avishka Fernando, who was one of the most prolific run-scorers in the previous Lanka Premier League seasons.
There are also reports that Dambulla Aura is planning to assemble a star-studded coaching staff this year by securing the service of a legendary Sri Lankan cricketer as the Director of Cricket for the team. An official announcement regarding this appointment is expected in the next few days. (NewsWire)
