Gold prices have risen in Sri Lanka due to the recent increase in the Dollar rate, local gold merchants stated.
The depreciation of the Sri Lankan Rupee has resulted in the price of a 22-karat sovereign increasing to Rs. 155,000 in the local gold market today (June 16).
Earlier, following the appreciation of the Sri Lankan Rupee a 22-karat sovereign was sold at Rs. 147,000.
Meanwhile, the price of a 24-karat gold sovereign has increased to Rs. 175,000.
Earlier, the price of a 24-karat gold sovereign had dropped to Rs. 160,000 in the local gold market. (NewsWire)
