Former Minister and Sri Lanka Podujama Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa has called for media reforms in Sri Lanka.
Taking to Twitter, MP Namal Rajapaksa shared an image of a news article which claimed that six SLPP Parliamentarians, including Namal Rajapaksa, are to be granted Cabinet Portfolios on a request made by SLPP National Organizer Basil Rajapaksa.
The report further stated that the appointments will be made by President Ranil Wickremesinghe after concluding his ongoing visit to France.
Stating that the information on the report was news to him, MP Namal Rajapaksa further stated that situations like this highlight the pressing need for media reforms.
“They have the power to shape public opinion and make us recognize why responsible media coverage is absolutely essential!” he added. (NewsWire)
