Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa will most likely not contest for the post of Premier again, State Minister of Plantation Industries Lohan Ratwatte said.
Speaking to reporters yesterday (22), the State Minister said that Mahinda Rajapaksa has done more than enough for the country.
“I think Mahinda Rajapaksa is a leader who has done a lot for Sri Lanka,” State Minister Lohan Ratwatte stated.
The State Minister added that he believes the time has now come for the former President to retire and enjoy his leisure time.
State Minister Lohan Ratwatte also stated that the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) will not hesitate to join hands with President Ranil Wickremesinghe in the future only if it is beneficial for the nation.
He also denied reports of a difference of opinion between the SLPP and President Ranil Wickremesinghe. (NewsWire)
