An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 on the Richter scale was reported in the South-East coast of Sri Lanka today, the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau stated.
According to the Bureau, the deep sea tremor was recorded 1,260 km off the South East Coast of Sri Lanka.
The tremor was felt in several parts of Sri Lanka, including Colombo, Battaramulla, Akuressa, and Galle.
The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau added that, however, there was no impact on the island. (NewsWire)
