Nearly eleven office train services on several lines have been cancelled today due to a trade union action, the Department of Railways said.
According to the department, the train services have been cancelled due to a trade union action launched by the Railway Engine Drivers’ Union.
The department added that the trade union action may result in the delay of other train services as well.
The trade union action was launched last evening (23 July), resulting in the cancellation of several evening trains plying to outstation areas from Colombo.
Reports state that the trade union action was reportedly launched against the duty rosters of engine drivers. (NewsWire)
