Former Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Municipal Council member for Kotte, Denzil Padmasiri has been arrested for allegedly exposing his private parts to the principal and a group of parents of a leading girls’ school in Kotte.
Condemning such behaviour, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Harsha de Silva stated that the former SLPP Municipal Councillor was arrested by the Welikada Police.
According to the Police, a group of parents and the principal of the school had filed a complaint with the Welikada Police claiming that former Councillor and activist Samantha Peiris was allegedly harassing the principal by sharing inappropriate posts through a WhatsApp group.
Both parties had been summoned to the Police station on Sunday, during which Saman Peiris had been accompanied by former Kotte SLPP Municipal Councillor, Denzil Padmasiri.
Thereafter, the principal and parents filed another complaint claiming that Padmasiri had exposed himself to them near the Police station’s canteen while leaving the station.
According to Daily Mirror, Denzil Padmasiri was arrested by the Police after he surrendered to the Welikada Police through his attorney-at-law yesterday.
The Police stated that former Kotte SLPP Municipal Councillor Denzil Padmasiri will be presented in court today. (NewsWire)
