The highest number of tourist arrivals so far in 2023 is expected to be reported in the month of July, the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) stated.
According to the SLTDA, with three days left in the month, a total of 123,503 tourist arrivals have been reported so far in July 2023.
Earlier this year, March reported the highest number of tourist arrivals with 125, 495 arrivals.
Based on the tourist arrivals reported between 1- 27th July 2023, India leads the source market with 20,779 arrivals.
United Kingdom with 15,126 tourist arrivals, China with 8,446 arrivals, Germany with 6,842 arrivals, and Russia with 6,374 round up the top five source markets for July 2023.
The remaining tourist arrivals have been reported from France, the Maldives, the Netherlands, Canada, and Australia.
Sri Lanka has reported a total of 748,377 tourist arrivals to date in 2023, an increase from the 719, 978 tourist arrivals reported for 2022. (NewsWire)
