The National Dangerous Drugs Control Board is set to hold a discussion on formulating a National Drug Policy specifically tailored for Sri Lanka.
According to NewsFirst, the discussion is scheduled to take place on August 04, 2023.
The National Dangerous Drugs Control Board reported a significant increase in the usage of cannabis in Sri Lanka.
Chairman of the board, Sakya Nanayakkara stated that the usage of cannabis has increased from 300,000 to 350,000 at present.
Nanayakkara further stated that the number of tobacco users in Sri Lanka currently stands at 1.5 million. (NewsWire)
