Fifteen Sri Lankans who were selected for nursing in Israel were handed over their flight tickets today at an event held under the patronage of the Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara at the Labour Ministry.
Issuing a statement on Facebook, the Minister stated that the group was the 69th group to secure jobs in Israel and will leave Sri Lanka on Wednesday (August 02).
A total of 202 Sri Lankans have obtained nursing jobs in Israel within the first six months of 2023, the Minister said.
Minister Manusha Nanayakkara emphasized that Sri Lankans are being provided jobs in the nursing sector in Israel through the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) under an agreement signed between the governments of the two nations.
The Minister urged the public to refrain from handing over their passports and money to individuals in hopes of securing jobs in Israel. (NewsWire)
