Over 56,000 dengue patients have been detected in Sri Lanka so far this year, the National Dengue Control Unit stated.
The Director of the Unit Dr. Nalin Ariyaratne stated that over 50% of the patients have been detected from the Western Province.
He further stated that a large number of patients have also been detected in the Kandy, Kegalle, Kurunegala, and Puttalam Districts.
Dr. Ariyaratne revealed that quite a number of dengue patients have also been detected in the Trincomalee and Batticaloa Districts from the Eastern Province.
He warned that the risk of the spread of dengue still remains. (NewsWire)
