The Soul Sounds Academy Choir was offered a grand welcome at the Katunayake airport after emerging victorious at the 12th Bali International Choir Festival 2023, bagging four Gold awards.
Upon their arrival, the Soul Sounds Academy Choir also briefly performed for its audience at the airport.
The Academy won Gold medals in the solo Classical Music and Children’s Choir Categories, respectively.
In addition, the Academy’s soloist Shenuk Wijesinghe also emerged category winner in the competition.
The Soul Sounds Academy Choir is conducted by Shivanthi Subramaniam and directed by Soundarie David Rodrigo and soloists Shenuk Wijesinghe and Rakitha Widyapathige and is reaching its 20th year.
The Academy bagged Gold awards in the event where over 92 choirs and well over 4,000 participants took part.
The Bali International Choir Festival is one of the fast-growing and reputed choral festivals in the world and each year welcomes choirs from all over the world.
An esteemed panel of international choral experts adjudicated this year’s competition.
The event’s Artistic Director is Mr Tommyanto Kandisaputra and the Bandung Choral Society organizes it. (NewsWire)
