A 16-year-old school student was reported dead in an accident during an educational tour in Habaraduwa.
The Police stated that the boy had been injured after he had put his head out of the window of the bus he was travelling in.
The teenager who was seated at the back of the bus had reportedly put his head out of the window during which he had knocked it on a utility pole.
The child, who was part of a Sunday School group on tour, was admitted to the Karapitiya Hospital following the accident after which he succumbed to injuries.
The Police stated that the accident had taken place while the bus was travelling through a crossroad towards Rumasala Mountain in Habaraduwa last evening.
The deceased had been identified as a 16-year-old resident of the Udubaddawa area in Kuliyapitiya.
The Habaraduwa Police has launched investigations into the accident. (NewsWire)
