The new “Digital Voice Communication Switching System (DVCS System)” at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) was declared open on Wednesday (Aug. 23).
This project has been entirely funded by the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL) with an investment of Rs 670 million.
According to AASL, this new DVCS system manages all the technical overhead by automatically relaying the Air Traffic Controllers’ communication through these air-ground stations toward aircraft.
It plays a vital role as it gives access to all communications through a single-touch display in front of Air Traffic Controllers.
