The Police have sought public assistance to apprehend the suspect wanted over the murder of a woman at a hotel in Bandarawela yesterday (Aug 24).
The suspect had hacked to death a 40-year-old woman from Etampitiya inside a room at the hotel and had fled the area.
Police investigations reveal that the 50-year-old man from Kelaniya had checked in at the hotel the previous day and had brought the woman to the hotel yesterday.
As the suspect had left the hotel hurriedly in the evening, hotel employees had inspected the room on suspicion and had found the woman’s body.
