A 38-year-old man has been arrested for shooting and injuring his 25-year-old sister-in-law in the Dhedhiyagala area in Bangama last night.
The Police stated that the victim who sustained serious injuries had been admitted to the Matara Hospital following the incident.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the shooting had taken place over a family dispute.
The suspect was arrested with the firearm used to carry out the shooting from the Lenama area in Akuressa early this morning.
The Police stated that the suspect will be produced before the Matara Magistrate’s Court today. (NewsWire)
