President Ranil Wickremesinghe has decided to appoint a committee chaired by a retired Supreme Court judge to inquire into the allegations made by Channel 4 on the Easter Sunday bombings and the government intends to appoint a Parliamentary Select Committee to investigate the allegation leveled by a former Attorney General alleging that there is a mastermind behind the Easter attack, Sri Lanka’s President’s office said.
President Wickremesinghe has also noted that upon completion of the two investigations into the Easter attacks, the reports from the Parliamentary Select Committee & the Presidential Commission on the Easter bomb attack will be presented to parliament before any final decisions are made.
