Two murders have been reported in the Mount Lavinia and Moratuwa areas within the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 am today.
The Police stated that a 41-year-old Railway employee who was found with cut wounds in a house in the Mt. Lavinia Railway Housing Complex succumbed to injuries last afternoon.
The victim who is reported to have been attacked with a sharp object over a personal dispute had succumbed to injuries after being admitted to the Colombo South teaching Hospital in Kalubowila.
The Matara resident is said to have been temporarily residing at the Mt. Lavinia Railway Housing Complex.
Meanwhile, a 58-year-old man attacked with a sharp weapon succumbed to injuries after being admitted to the Lunawa Hospital.
The Police stated that the resident of Lunawa, Moratuwa had been found with cut injuries opposite a house and had died while undergoing treatment at the Lunawa Hospital yesterday.
Investigations have revealed that an argument between the victim and an area resident over a personal dispute had escalated, resulting in the suspect attacking the victim with a sword.
The suspect has been arrested, while the Moratuwa Police is conducting investigations. (NewsWire)
