Pakistan bowling legend Waqar Younis has highlighted the performance of a Sri Lankan Under-19 cricketer who he thinks is pushing through the ranks well and is a future potential pick for Sri Lanka.
Taking to ‘X’, Younis said similar to Dunith Wellalage being found as a young talent for Sri Lanka, Sharujun Shanmuganathan is an up and coming talent for Sri Lanka.
“What a talented and confident young boy #Wellagale One for the future. SriLanka never short of talent, met this little #Sharujan few years back now coming through the ranks quite nicely,” the former Pakistan cricketer added.
Shanmuganathan, a 17-year-old, is currently performing in the Under-19 series against the West Indies underway in Dambulla. (NewsWire)
