President Ranil Wickremesinghe has announced the introduction of a new law to transform the Port City into a Financial Zone.
According to the President’s Media Division (PMD), the President said that the new law will transform the Port City into ‘Colombo Financial Zone’, granting it jurisdiction over offshore activities.
President Wickremesinghe further stated that this legislation is expected to be enacted by the end of the year (2023).
The President made the remarks while speaking at the 2023 Commercial Mediation Symposium held at the Hilton Hotel in Colombo today. (NewsWire)
