China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation’s (Sinopec) retail fuel operation in Sri Lanka was officially launched on Monday (Sep 25), Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera announced today.
Taking to ‘X’, Minister Wijesekera said Sinopec will initially operate through 150 fuel stations assigned from the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC), while 50 new fuel stations are to be established.
Stating that the launch event held on Monday marks a historic energy partnership and investment in Sri Lanka, the Minister added that the energy partnership will strengthen the availability of fuel, quality of fuel and affordability of fuel.
The Ambassador to China Qi Zhenhong, the Executive Director of Sinopec Fuel Oil Sales Yang Junze, Officials of Ministries, Government institutes, the Chinese Embassy, and the Sinopec Group, Industry stakeholders, and Sinopec Dealership partners participated in the event. (NewsWire)
