The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) has warned of a minor flood situation prevailing in the lowline areas of Attanagalu Oya basin.
According to the DMC, there are chances of minor floods in the Gampaha, Minuwangoda, Ja-ela, Katana and Wattala areas in the next 24 hours.
Residents and motorists in the said areas have been advised to remain vigilant of the situation.
The DMC added that the flood warnings are effective until 10.00 am tomorrow (Oct 01).
The Disaster Management Centre has also issued landslide warnings to 08 districts effective for the next 12 hours until 10.00 am tomorrow (Oct 01).
Level 2 Amber Alerts have been issued to the Galle, Hambantota, Kalutara, Kandy, Kegalle, Matale, Matara, and Ratnapura Districts.
The public in the said area have been requested to remain vigilant of possible landslides and rock falls due to the prevalent rainy weather conditions. (NewsWire)
