The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for heavy rains in five districts of Sri Lanka.
The department said the prevailing showery condition in the south-western part of Sri Lanka is likely to continue further due to the active Southwest Monsoon conditions over the island.
Heavy showers, above 100 mm are likely at some places in the Southern province and in the Kalutara and Ratnapura districts.
The Department further stated that the advisory issued at 12.00 noon is effective for the next 12 hours. (NewsWire)
