Sri Lanka cricketing legend Sanath Jayasuriya has named his probable four to qualify for the semi-finals of the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
Speaking on the ‘Sanath Show’, Jayasuriya said he predicts that India, England, Australia and New Zealand will have the chance of reaching the semi-final of the cricket tournament.
Requesting Sri Lankan fans not to slam him for not picking Sri Lanka, Jayasuriya explained that he believes that Sri Lanka’s chances are hampered due to the various injuries amongst its players, such as Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chameera, and Maheesh Theekshana.
“I would love for Sri Lanka to reach the semi-finals. But the persisting injuries are an issue. I believe Sri Lanka has a chance of reaching the semi-finals. However, out of the current strong teams, the chances are more for India, England, Australia and New Zealand.” he said.
Jayasuriya further advised the Sri Lankan cricket team to play a good tournament and good cricket not worrying about the end result. (NewsWire)
