An active army soldier on vacation and a former army soldier have been arrested with a firearm and ammunition on Saturday (7) night at Elpitiya while allegedly waiting to carry out a murder.
Police said that a pistol, 10 live bullets, 3 mobile phones, 2 false vehicle number plates and a motorcycle in their possession have also been taken into custody.
Arrested suspected are 21 and 31 year olds and police suspect that they may have planned the attempted murder at a different location and after failing, have waited nearby the targeted victim’s house before being apprehended by the police.
