The Education Ministry has decided to allow school students in the Bandarawela education zone, staying at a relative’s house or another place due to displacement, to receive education from any nearby school.
According to Ada Derana, Zonal Education Director of Bandarawela, H.M.M. Dhammika Herath said that the decision was taken due to the absence of a large number of students due to the prevalent inclement weather conditions.
Meanwhile, measures have been taken to close the Haldummulla Koslanda Makaldeniya Tamil Primary School and the Miriyabedda Tamil Primary School due to the non-attendance of students.
The decision has been taken due to the students failing to attend school as a result of possible disaster incidents as a result of inclement weather. (NewsWire)
