The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) has allocated US$ 10,000 to provide necessary facilities to Sri Lankan workers in Israel facing a crisis due to the conflict between Israel and Palestine.
Issuing a statement, the SLBFE said that the allocated fund of US$ 10,000 has already been handed over to the Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel.
The money has been given to provide food, medicines and all other facilities for Sri Lankan workers in Israel.
The SLBFE further said that it has also taken steps to allocate further funds for Sri Lankans in Israel if a need arises in the future.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara have also issued directives on the safety of Sri Lankans in Israel.
The SLBFE said that relevant officers have been advised to take all necessary steps to deal with the safety of workers in Israel and provide all the facilities they require. (NewsWire)
