The first charter flight of a series of charter flight operations of Lot Polish Airlines arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake today (Oct 25).
The Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL) said that operating from the Czech Republic, the charter flight arrived with 252 international tourists.
Issuing a statement, the AASL said that the charter flight will be in operation until March 26, 2024.
These charter flights are organized in collaboration with Cedok of the Czech Republic, Sri Lanka Tourism, and Jetwing Travels. Hayleys aviation is the GSA for Lot Polish Airlines.
The first flight was welcomed with a water salute, while the passengers were entertained with a traditional welcome dance performance and Ceylon Tea gifts for each tourist.
Further, the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau will commence a joint promotional campaign with Cedox parallel to the charter flight arrivals from the Czech Republic, with the support of AASL, Jetwing Travels, and Hayleys Aviation in order to enhance the destination awareness among Eastern Europe markets.
