Switzerland’s Edelweiss Air commences flight operations to SL

Swiss airline, Edelweiss Air, resumed Flight operations to Sri Lanka with the first flight arriving at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake (BIA) today (Nov 03).

Commencing winter operations, the renowned Swiss airline flight arrived with 221 passengers at 8.50 a.m. at the BIA.

Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL) said the airline will operate weekly flights from Zurich to Colombo from November 03, 2023 until May 17, 2024.

The new connection offers a convenient direct flight for travellers from Colombo to the heart of Europe, with many onward flight options from Zurich connecting to Europe, North America, and beyond with Swiss International Air Lines.

Edelweiss Air is the holiday airline based at Zurich Airport, a sister company of Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) and a member of the Lufthansa Group that primarily operates charter and holiday flights to 70 destinations in over 30 countries worldwide.
