Sri Lankan Commentator Roshan Abeysinghe says cricketers representing the national team need to be mindful of their responses when addressing the media.
Speaking during a television interview, Abeysinghe said language is a barrier faced by many of the Sri Lankan cricketers when on overseas tours.
He said, however, it is also essential to be mindful of the responses one gives when facing the media.
“We saw recently some of the responses were wrong. The cricketers must be trained for such instances. Facing the media is not like facing a single person. It is just a bridge between the cricketer and the worldwide audience,” he said.
Commending Angelo Mathews for his manner in handling the media, Abeysinghe said this comes through years of experience in leading the team and engaging with the media during tours. (NewsWire)
