Saudi Arabia Ambassador for Sri Lanka His Excellency Khalid bin Hamoud Alkahtani attended the inauguration ceremony of the SLIIT International Conference on Advancements in Sciences and Humanities and the National Educators Awards Programme, 2023, in Colombo, as the chief guest, during which a number of distinguished staff members of the institute were honored.
During the event, His Excellency the Ambassador delivered a speech and thank the event organizers for inviting him to grace the occasion as the chief guest.
And he added “Today is a special day where we come together to celebrate the result of years of hard work, dedication, and learning. We also take this moment to acknowledge and appreciate exceptional educators whose strong commitment has positively influenced students and the community. On this important day, I extend my congratulations to the recipients of the 2023 National Educators Awards, wishing them a future filled with success and joy”.
Also, he encouraged the winners of the award to be promoters for other fields of studies, without confining to their particular field and to use their skills to bridge gaps, foster collaboration, and address the societal challenges everyone faces.
And His Excellency commended the efforts made by universities and educational institutes in the Republic of Sri Lanka in advancing the educational landscape in Sri Lanka by promoting participation in quality education and continuous professional development across various specializations.
Also, pointed out the importance of strengthening educational cooperation between the Republic of Sri Lanka and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, especially between universities, and educational institutions in our two friendly countries, and holding educational events, which will help strengthen the existing friendly relations between the two friendly countries and peoples in various fields.
