A Sri Lankan man employed in South Korea has died after being stabbed by a fellow Sri Lankan, it was reported.
According to Media reports, the murder had been reported on Sunday morning (Dec 03). The deceased has been identified as a 29-year-old resident of Pamunugama.
According to Ada Derana, the victim’s wife revealed that her husband had been employed in Japan and had returned to Sri Lanka to look after his ill father, while he had left for South Korea in August this year to work as a Welder.
Stating that he had resided in a shared house with two others in the Mokpo area in South Korea, she said he had repeatedly told her of one individual constantly picking a fight after consuming alcohol.
“The employment agent had also been informed in this regard. During our last phone conversation, my husband informed me once again of the other Sri Lankan causing issues,” she said.
The victim’s wife revealed that that night her husband who had been asleep inside his room, had died after being stabbed in the chest by the other Sri Lankan.
The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) had been informed of the incident and had in turn informed the victim’s family, while the South Korean authorities confirmed that the suspect was in Police custody. (NewsWire)
