The postmortem examination into the death of an underage boy at a Madrasa school in Sainthamaruthu recently has raised suspicions over the death, the Police said.
Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa told NewsWire, that the coroner and doctors who conducted the postmortem have raised doubts over the death, but are yet to confirm if it is a murder.
He further said that Police investigations have been launched to ascertain if the 13-year-old boy had been murdered.
SSP Thalduwa added that the Maulavi of the Madrasa school who was arrested over the death will be produced in Court today.
The Police Spokesman also revealed that the body of the teenager has been returned to the family following the completion of the postmortem examination.
The boy was initially suspected to have died by suicide after his body was found at the Madrasa school on Tuesday.
However, area residents surrounded the Madrasa school that night claiming that the death was suspicious.
The Sainthamaruthu Police immediately arrived at the location and arrested the Maulavi of the Madrasa school in connection to the death. (NewsWire)
