Indian commentator Aakash Chopra predicts Sri Lanka’s Dilshan Madushanka will be acquired for a higher bid at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 mini-auction.
Commenting during his YouTube show, Chopra also hinted that Kolkata Knight Riders mentor Gautam Gambhir’s sights will be set on Madushanka this season.
“So Madushanka might actually have a field day. He might get sold for six to eight crores,” he added.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 mini-auction will happen on December 19 in Dubai, the first time an IPL auction will happen outside India.
According to some reports, 1,166 players have registered for the IPL 2024 mini-auction. Among these 1,166 players, there are 830 Indian and 336 overseas players.
Sri Lanka’s Angelo Mathews is among the list of players who have opted for a maximum base price of Rs 2 crore.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana have been retained by the Chennai Super Kings. (NewsWire)
