Accordingly, showers will sometimes occur in the Northern, North-central and Eastern provinces.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the other areas of the island after 1.00 p.m.
Fairly heavy showers above 75mm are likely at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western provinces, and the Galle and Matara districts.
Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Pottuvil to Mannar via Batticaloa, Trincomalee and Kankasanthurai. Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the other sea areas around the island, particularly during the evening or night.
Winds will be North-easterly in direction and wind speed will be 25-35 kmph. The sea areas around the island will be slight to moderate. Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers. (NewsWire)
