An investigation is ongoing to ascertain the cause for the islandwide power outage experienced in Sri Lanka recently, Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera said.
Taking to ‘X’, Minister Wijesekera said that he visited the System Control Room of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) on Monday (Dec 11) to discuss the cause and reasons for the islandwide blackout that took place on Saturday.
“System Control engineers and officials presented the events that took place leading to the blackout and steps that were taken to restore power,” he said.
The minister further said that investigations are ongoing to determine and verify the exact reasons for the blackout.
He added that instructions were given to the CEB management to implement the recommendations from system control and investigations, to avoid future blackouts. (NewsWire)
