A weather advisory has been issued for heavy rain and strong winds/ rough seas for the sea areas extending from Colombo to Trincomalee via Galle, Hambantota and Batticaloa.
The Met Department said showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Colombo to Trincomalee via Galle and Hambantota.
Temporarily strong gusty winds up to 60-70 kmph can be expected during Thundershowers.
