Over 2000 suspects have been arrested in the islandwide special operation carried out by the Police Special Task Force (STF) in the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 am today.
The Ministry of Public Security said a total of 2,296 suspects were arrested during this period.
The Police had also recovered 1.1 kilos of heroin, 648 grams of ICE, 126,060 cannabis plants, and 19,507 narcotic pills.
Over 6000 suspects have been apprehended since the islandwide special operation was launched over the last weekend.
The Police STF also took into custody eight (08) vehicles valued at nearly Rs. 68 million which reportedly belong to drug dealers.
