Two women have been killed in a road accident reported close to Kurundugahahetekma on the Southern Expressway last night (Jan 03).
The Police said a van travelling from Colombo to Mattala had collided with a lorry travelling in front in the same direction.
Six persons, including the driver of the van who had sustained injuries in the accident, had been admitted to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.
A 57-year-old woman and her 32-year-old daughter had succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment in hospital.
