According to the information received, troops of Military Intelligence attached to 12 Infantry Division located in Hambantota under the Security Force Headquarters – Central together with officials from Gonaganara Police Station seized 1500 kilograms of cannabis in Yala Sugandipuram area on 18 January.
All captured cannabis was subsequently destroyed at the site. The Gonaganara Police apprehended suspects and a locally produced weapon, with further investigation underway
